December 11, 2014The activities of this subdepartment are as follows:
- Investigation of incidents on the inland waterways such as:
– collisions
– damage of fishing nets
– oil spills
– stranded vessels
– sinking of vessels - Drawing up of conclusion reports and official report
- Regular inspection on the river (boats, piers, buoys, bridges)
- Regular inspection on ferry routes
- Processing of license applications in cooperation with the department of Hydrography (recommendations to the District Commissioner or Port Master)
- Handling incoming requests for authorization of navigators for ferries
Performing ISPS activities such as:
- collecting and inspecting pre-arrival information with regard to approval for ships to put in at our port;
- evaluating “assessments” and security plans of port facilities;
- conducting audits of the port facilities;
- conducting ISPS inspections onboard ships.
