ANNOUNCEMENT TO THE SHIPPING TRAFFIC
COAST OF SURINAME
RETRIEVING BUOYS
In the period April 8th till May 8th 2014 three (3) buoys will be retrieved off the coast of Suriname by the vessel named “R/V GYRE”.
The research vessel will use a winch to retrieve the buoys at the respective locations.
The locations of the buoys are:
Buoy 1, block 53 – (07° 40’ 51.42“ N – 55° 31’ 03.31” W) on 1800 metres water depth.
Buoy 2, block 42 – (08° 01’.31.08” N – 55° 15’ 52.20” W) on 2400 metres water depth.
Buoy 3, block 47 – (08° 31’ 51.76” N – 54° 40’ 20.39” W) on 2007 metres water depth.
Communication is through the VHF channel 16.
Please note:
The “R/V GYRE” will sail at different courses. The vessel has restricted maneuverability and is unable to stop.
For the safety of your boats and equipment and for the smooth running of this research, you are advised to keep a safe distance of 6 (six) km from the vessel.
All ships are requested to take notice of the above mentioned.
