ANNOUNCEMENT TO THE SHIPPING TRAFFIC
SURINAMERIVER – DIJKVELD
PIPELINE OPERATION

Due to the Staatsolie Refinery Expansion Project, a pipeline will be placed near the shore from the Vabi Jetty to the Staatsolie jetty on the Suriname River. The activities will be conducted from Sunday 11th till Wednesday 14th May 2014. 

The work area has the following coordinates (WGS’ 84):

1. 05° 46’ 40.85ˮ N – 055°09’ 28.60ˮ W
2. 05° 46’ 44.83ˮ N – 055°09’ 22.70ˮ W
3. 05° 45’ 59.00ˮ N – 055°08’ 40.44ˮ W
4. 05° 45’ 56.01ˮ N – 055°08’ 43.96ˮ W

The operation will be carried out from the tugboats Deen and Fin and the barges Eric – Jan and Collette.
Communication is through the VHF channel 12.

The above mentioned area is completely closed for the shipping traffic. All ships are requested to pass by the area with caution. For safety reasons and for the smooth running of this operation, you are advised to keep a safe distance of 25 (twenty-five) m from the vessels.
