ANNOUNCEMENT TO THE SHIPPING TRAFFIC
MEASURES OF THE MAS WITH REGARD TO COVID-19
INSPECTIONS AND REGISTRATION OF VESSELS

In response to current developments regarding COVID -19 in Suriname, the Maritime Authority Suriname (MAS) is taking the following measures to prevent the virus from spreading further:

1. processing of applications for inspection and registration of vessels is
postponed until April 30th, 2020;
2. hard copy documents will not be accepted until April 30th, 2020;
3. cases that were in process before the lockdown will completed;
4. the final product is sent by email;
5. the validity of the current certificates is extended by one (1) month from today and
6. the certificates of inspected vessels can be collected after the lock-down
period.
