ANNOUNCEMENT TO THE SHIPPING TRAFFIC

ENTRANCE SURINAME RIVER
DREDGING ACTIVITIES

From 12 September till 30 November 2021 dredging work will be conducted in the channel of the Suriname River by the trailing suction hopper dredger Lesse and the water injector dredger Delta Queen I.

The work area is situated between buoys R4 and S4 and is indicated by the following coordinates in WGS84:

3  06° 01′.878 N   055° 12′.543 W
4  06° 01′.895 N   055° 13′.228 W

Dredging activities will take place around the clock. The vessels Lesse and Delta Queen I will be restricted in maneuverability during dredging and will carry the necessary lights and signs.

For passage in the navigation channel, direct communication with the dredging vessels and the Vessel Traffic Control of the MAS will be required.

Communication is through VHF channel 12.

All ships should take notice of the above mentioned.
