ANNOUNCEMENT TO THE SHIPPING TRAFFIC
CHART 2017
OFF THE COAST OF SURINAME
SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH

From April 24th till July 10th, 2021 the survey vessel Bourbon Sapphire will conduct scientific and biodiversity research at seventy Nautical Miles (70 NM) off the coast of Suriname. Instruments will be attached to the seabed and suspended in the water column at various locations:

A yellow marker buoy (light character Fl.Y.4s) will be placed at Site 1.

Please note:
• Communication is through VHF channel 16.
• During operation, the vessel Bourbon Sapphire will be restricted in maneuverability and will display the relevant characters.
• Vessels must maintain a safe distance of at least one thousand meters (1000 m) from the survey vessel Bourbon Sapphire.
• All ships must maintain a safe distance of at least five kilometers (5 km) from the marker buoy.

All ships are requested to take notice of the above mentioned.
