ANNOUNCEMENT TO THE SHIPPING TRAFFIC
COAST SARAMACCA
SOIL RESEARCH
In the period March 24th till April 21st, 2014, the survey vessels “Barge Navajo” and “MV Gladys McCall” are conducting soil research along the coast of the district Saramacca.
The survey area has the following coordinates (WGS’ 84):
- 06° 15’ 14.43” N – 055° 45’ 00.25” W
- 06° 15’ 11.00” N – 055° 20’ 06.24” W
- 05° 59’ 59.87” N – 055° 20’ 09.07” W
- 06° 00’ 00.00” N – 055° 45’ 00.00” W
Communication is through the VHF channel 16.
Please note:
The “Barge Navajo” and “MV Gladys McCall” will sail at different courses. The vessels have restricted maneuverability and are unable to stop. Thereby the vessels will carry the specified characters.
At daytime:
The vessels will carry three figures vertically above each other. The upper and lower figures are a spherical shape with a red color and in the middle a diamond shape with a white color.
At night:
The vessels will carry three lights vertically above in the colors red, white, red.
All ships are requested to take notice of the above mentioned and to keep a safe distance from the survey vessels.
