ANNOUNCEMENT TO THE SHIPPING TRAFFIC
SURINAME RIVER
WORK ACTIVITIES ON UNDERWATER CABLE BETWEEN KLAASKREEK AND NIEUW LOMBE RIVER TILL APOERA
From October 14th till October 20th, 2024, infrastructure work will be carried out in the Suriname River between Klaaskreek and Nieuw Lombe from the pontoon Rashad with push tug Rayna for the installation of a protective layer around the underwater cable from the riverbank to 15 meters into the river.
The working area is indicated by the following coordinates in WGS 84:

Please note!
- During the laying of the underwater cable the pontoon Rashad with push tug Rayna will be restricted in maneuverability and will display the relevant characters.
- Vessels must keep a safe distance of at least a hundred meters (100 m) from the pontoon and the work area.
- Communication is through VHF channel 12.
All ships should take notice of the above-mentioned.
