On July 26, 2024, the French Embassy will hold a naval parade on the Suriname River in connection with the start of the 2024 Olympic Games. During the parade, the river section from Rede Paramaribo to the Saramacca Canal between both banks will be temporarily closed.
The following arrangement applies:
The temporary closure from Rede Paramaribo to the Saramacca Canal will take effect on July 26, 2024 from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM. There is a safety zone of one hundred meters (100 m) for each vessel participating in the naval parade. The parade will be led by the French patrol ship La Résolue.
The temporary closed area is indicated by the following coordinates (WGS 84):
